RAD MICROBES
Garden & Lawn Microbes
Using Your 8oz Concentrate
Your bottle holds a living microbial concentrate. To use it, dilute with water and a little molasses, which wakes the microbes and feeds them as they activate. Once in the soil they multiply and establish, so a light dose is all that is needed to seed your ground.
The Mix — 2 Gallon Watering Can
- Fill your can with around 2 gallons of water. Rainwater or chlorine free water is best.
- Add 2 tablespoons of concentrate.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of molasses until dissolved.
- Let it stand for 30 minutes so the microbes hydrate and become active.
- Apply to the soil and root zone the same day. Do not store the mixed solution overnight.
Using a 1 gallon can? Simply halve everything: 1 tablespoon of concentrate, half a tablespoon of molasses, into 1 gallon of water, with the same 30 minute stand.
How to Apply
- For garden beds, water around the base of plants so the solution reaches the roots.
- For grass, spread evenly across the surface, then follow with a light watering to carry the biology down into the soil.
- Apply in the cool of early morning or evening, not in strong midday sun.
- Repeat monthly through the growing season for ongoing benefit.
Chlorine in mains tap water can reduce microbe viability. If only treated tap water is available, leave it standing uncovered for a few hours first, or use collected rainwater. At this rate your 8oz bottle makes around eight 2 gallon watering cans, plenty to treat a typical garden or modest lawn across the season.
